Colne Radio Nominated for National Community Radio Award

Colne Radio is proud to announce that their ‘Finding Your Voice’ project been nominated as a finalist in the 2025 Community Radio Awards, a national celebration of excellence in community broadcasting.

The nomination came in the Community Impact Project of the Year category, with their entry for Colne Radio’s Finding Your Voice Project which is a 3-year National Lottery Community Funded project delivering Radio Skills workshops in NE Essex to people who are underrepresented in the media.

Colne Radio CIC is based in Wivenhoe and has been serving the local community since 2011 and the stations main aim has been to give local communities and organisations an opportunity to be heard

Wendy Bixby, Project Manager for the Finding Your Voice project said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be recognised on a national level. Being nominated and shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Community Impact project of the Year’ category is a testament to the hard work of all our volunteers, trainers, presenters, board members and the support of our amazing community partners, who have enabled us to reach some of the most isolated people in Colchester and Tendring”
