Local Station Recognised in National Community Radio Awards
A local community radio station has been recognised at the 2025 Community Radio Awards.
The silver award for Colne Radio’s Finding Your Voice Project was presented to Project Manager’s Will and Wendy Bixby, the culmination of an intensive judging process to recognise those producing great quality content and engaging with their communities.
The awards ceremony was held in Bradford, alongside the UK Community Radio Network conference.
Justin Fairweather, Chair of Colne Radio Board and Station Manager said: “Winning the Silver Award at the 2025 Community Radio Awards is a proud moment for Colne Radio. It reflects the passion and commitment of the Finding Your Voice Team who work tirelessly to help bring local stories and voices to life. This recognition is not just for us — it’s for the entire community that supports and inspires us every day.””.
Rebecca Steers, awards chair, said: “The recognition for Community Impact Project of the Year is well deserved, and we hope it recognises their success, and encourages others to engage, represent and support their communities.”
“We’ve had a surge in entries this year, so for a station to be recognised is a real achievement. Organisations like Colne Radio CIC have proven their value at the heart of their local areas.”
